What to bring on your trip
Weather in the Rockies is unpredictable, ranging from hot and sunny, to cool and wet. It's best to be prepared so you can fully enjoy your horseback riding vacation with us!
All our trips include:
- sure-footed mountain horses
- tents
- water jugs
- closed cell foamies
- wranglers and cooks
- cots
- saddles and saddle bags
- wholesome meals (we will do our best to accommodate special dietary needs, with enough advance notice)
- solar showers
List of things to bring:
- duffle bag for your gear
- warm sleeping bag & fleece liner
- warm coat
- rain gear or slicker (no ponchos, please)
- jeans/long sleeved shirt
- riding boots with a heel
- fishing gear (optional)
- pillow (optional)
- toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, towel
- gloves
- hat with a brim and a wool hat
- long underwear
- camera and film
- flashlight
- sweater
- rubber boots
- insect repellant, sunscreen, lip balm
- sunglasses
- bring your own beer, wine, liquor and soft drinks
Equipment Rentals: Sleeping bags - $30; Chaps - $20; Slickers - $15. Please reserve ahead.
Due to the inherent risks of riding horses, we recommend that our guests wear a helmet. Since riding helmets need to be professionally fitted, we cannot provide them. Guests who choose to wear a riding helmet must bring their own.
To minimize the risk of having one of your feet getting caught in a stirrup, we recommend that you ride in cowboy boots. If you do not have cowboy boots, your shoes/boots must at least have:
- Smooth leather soles
- Heel
- Pull off easily
