"Oh my gawd, what an amazing trip that was.... Everything was stupendous. I didn't want to come home. I'm having major culture shock getting back into the Toronto groove. All I can think of is the mountains, the smell of horses and Vanessa's cooking.” ~ Donna Rowe, 4-day Adventurer

"What a fantastic time we had! Garth, Stacey and Vanessa were great. We saw spectacular country, great riding, with delicious meals to come back to! Thank you to all. But most of al we were so impressed with those wonderful horses. Excellent! We'll be back next year for sure for a longer trip.” ~ Don Brackett, 4-day Adventurer

"Thank you so much for a wonderful trip. We had an amazing experience. Lexus and Buddy are very well trained horses. Lexus help me to be more confident in horseback riding mostly because I'm a beginner and to be honest I was afraid a little bit knowing that I have to ride 6 - 7 hours. Even so I feel sore, I'll remember it like a wonderful and exciting experience. ”  ~ Miha & Chris, Mountain Day Ride

"Well ... this is my first opportunity since coming back to the "rat race" to send you a little note thanking you and your amazing crew for a fantastic time; it was truly a trip of a lifetime for me and I will not soon forget my adventure! I cannot say enough about the folks that looked after us, as well.... Thank you all for the experience and the chance to meet you all. You are a special bunch of people and your hospitality will never be forgotten.” ~ Melanie Lucia, Great Divide Ride

“On behalf of the Surrey West Division English Girl Guides I would like to thank you and your wranglers for a really brilliant day horse trekking. We all had such a great time. ... You are so lucky to be able to ride through such beautiful scenery, I don't think I will ever forget it. The packed lunch was great, everything was and I just can't thank you all enough. I would recommend your ranch to anyone who wanted to go riding....” ~ Annette Watson, UK Guide Guider, Ranch Day Ride

"That trip was THE most INCREDIBLE trip I've ever been on ... left other trips in the dust, like Costa Rica, Jamaica, anything else tropical or "adventurous" HA HA ... they were NOTHING compared to a week in the Rockies on horseback!!! Having had 25 - 30 years "horse experience", I was worried about being a "boring trail ride" with "plugs" ... My God, I was BLOWN AWAY by some of the riding we did ... The horses were absolutely phenominal athletes, and each had his own personality ... The staff was excellent, helpful and friendly, the food was phenominal (different meals every time and absolutely delicious!!!) and the scenery was absolutely breath-taking .. NOT, I repeat NOT just "another boring trail ride" ~ Diana Robinson, Great Divide Ride

"I put together a little poem to describe our weekend. The girls agreed that it spoke for them all, so here goes my attemp at winning the Governor General's award for poetry:

Claybank in the Kananaskis

They were ladies from Claybank who'd farmed all their lives,
Mothers and grandmas, daughters and wives,
Some pushin' 50 (and some pushin' more)
Thought a trip through the Rockies a ride they'd adore.

Dewy brought horses who'd climb the thin air,
And the ladies from Claybank accepted his dare

With tree branches slappin' and sliding on rocks,
They forgot about husbands and children and clocks,
The low price of wheat and the high price of gas
As they rode up the mountain and over the pass.

They sighed with relief when base camp was in sight,
and sat 'round the fire with some drinks for the night.
Their beloved Christine kept them fed very well,
A spry little senior, and what stories she'd tell!

The wranglers hard working, the horses well fed,
The dishes scrubbed up and they fell into bed
More riding next day, and more sights to see,
Cut loose from the farm - the girls felt so free!

A weekend from heaven, it's memory to treasure,
An experience they reckoned too priceless to measure
Sore butts and sore knees, but no worse for wear,
T'was a weekend away from all chores and all cares.

To Anchor D Outfitters and Dewy's fine crew,
Christine and her girls who whip up a fine stew,
To the wranglers for all the hard work that they've done,
Three cheers for you all, and thanks for the fun!"
