Grandpa's Cabin and Heartland Cabin

Our cozy, authentic log cabins are nestled in the foothills of the Rockies right beside Kananaskis Country. Situated in a private grove and surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of nature, our cabins are perfect for that romantic weekend, spending some quality time with your kids, a getaway with your girlfriends or as a base for exploring the many things to see and do in the Alberta Rockies. Whether you are looking to curl up by the fire with a good book, do some horseback riding or just want to hike up the ridge into Kananaskis country, you will find what you are looking for at Anchor D.  Sit on your porch swing and be serenaded by the coyotes, roast marshmallows at the outdoor firepit, and don’t be surprised if you get a visit from the local moose or elk!

When staying at our cabins you won’t even need to get in your car to reach some of the best horseback riding in North America.  Be sure to reserve a guided horseback trail ride for your group – from 2 hours exploring the ridges and meadows around the ranch to a full day of adventure in the mountains, no stay at the cabins is complete without saddling up and experiencing a little of the cowboy way of life from the back of a horse. 

If you're an outdoors enthusiast we also have spectacular trails for hiking, cross country skiing or snowshoeing and an “Olympic caliber” toboggan hill.  We're only 5 km. from the Sandy McNabb Recreation Area, which offers ice skating and many other activities, depending on the season. For photographers and artists, the area abounds with opportunities to express your creative side. 

Nearby there is golfing, mountain biking, fishing, swimming, shopping and restaurants. We're within 1 - 2 hours drive from Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Remington-Alberta Carriage Museum, Glenbow Museum, Calgary Stampede, and many other attractions.  

Rates and Policies:

Cost: $175 per night + GST (up to 4 guests)
Weekly Rate: $900 + GST (7 days, 6 nights)
Additional guests: $20/night/person + GST

50% of the rental is required as a deposit at the time of booking, the remainder is due the day you arrive. Please note that deposits are non-refundable, but are transferrable to another party.

Check-in: 3 p.m.  Check-out: 11 a.m.
